Aspire Talent Group is proud to deliver exclusive global commercial management services on behalf of emerging Rugby star and QLD Reds backrower, Angus Scott-Young.
Expert Rugby commentators in Australia believe the 21-year-old son of former Wallabies hard-man Sam Scott-Young should be firmly in-frame as a selection bolter for the 2019 Rugby World Cup.
Scott-Young made his Super Rugby debut in Round 3 of season 2018 turning out for the QLD Reds. He recorded 14 Super Rugby caps under coach Brad Thorn as one of 12 Reds’ debutants. Scott-Young and Thorn had previously combined as player and coach in 2017 to win the National Rugby Championship title with QLD Country. It marked 12 months of incredible ascendancy for the side after Country finished with the wooden spoon in 2016. It was there that Thorn was given a firsthand look at Scott-Young’s hard-running style and high work-rate. He describes the talented forward as a “…very physical and able Rugby player.”
Angus also won the Hospital Cup with the University of Queensland and was named Vice-Captain of the Australian U20s side which contested the Oceania Championships and Junior World Cup, capping off a career-shaping 2017.
Angus Scott-Young came through the Queensland pathway system, graduating from Anglican Church Grammar School in Brisbane as an Op1 student. The high-achieving youngster is currently studying medicine on an academic scholarship at the University of Queensland. He is an excellent prospect for Wallabies honours in the coming years and a standout future leader of the Reds’ at Super Rugby level.
